We are the Learning Disability Service for Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
We work with adults who have had a learning disability since childhood and:
- find it hard to understand new or difficult information
- find it hard to learn new skills
- find it hard to cope independently.
We will support you to make choices about your health needs.

How to make a referral to the service
All new referrals to the service for Hampshire and Southampton areas go to the Learning Disability Service - Single Point of Access.
For referrals already open to the service, continue to contact your local team.
We also have a team that provides support for people with behaviours that challenge, it is called the Intensive Support Team (IST). Your Community Learning Disability Team will refer you if needed.
