We are the Learning Disability Service for Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.  

We work with adults who have had a learning disability since childhood and: 

  • find it hard to understand new or difficult information
  • find it hard to learn new skills 
  • find it hard to cope independently.

How to make a referral to the service 

All new referrals to the service for Hampshire and Southampton areas go to the Learning Disability Service - Single Point of Access

For referrals already open to the service, continue to contact your local team. 

We also have a team that provides support for people with behaviours that challenge, it is called the Intensive Support Team (IST). Your Community Learning Disability Team will refer you if needed.
