About the service

CAMHS services help children and young people, their families and carers when someone is experiencing emotional well-being or mental health difficulties. We provide services across locations, such as GP surgeries, clinics, hospitals and schools, to support young people experiencing mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder and psychosis.

What we do

Our teams are made up of nurses, psychologists and psychiatrists as well as a number of specialist therapists (art, occupational and physiotherapy). All these staff are trained to help children and young people (and their families/carers) understand why they might be feeling or behaving in a certain way, and support them in their recovery to overcome these difficulties with the most appropriate course of treatment, tailored to the individual.

Some of our teams focus on working with particular groups of young people including those with learning disabilities or who are 'looked after'.
