GP services

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust supports primary care (GP) services in Gosport, Southampton, Basingstoke, and on the Isle of Wight.

About the service

As a Trust we have been supporting primary care services for a number of years. We are able to share our expertise and resources with the practices whilst also sharing their strong links into local communities, ensuring the people they support get the best care.

What we do

Primary care services are under enormous pressure. There is a national shortage of GPs and an ever growing population that requires support. Our work with the primary care services we support aims to share our knowledge and resources enabling them to concentrate on patient care. As a community provider we work closely with the same patients enabling our practices greater links to some of our specialist care.

Primary Care Development Service

As well as providing GP services, we also provide a Primary Care Development Service. This team aims to improve and develop engagement, communication and integration between our community services and Primary Care (GP Practices and Primary Care Networks).

The team aims to support services by improving and developing engagement with Primary Care, and as such, this information is suitable for healthcare professionals and our other community partners only.
