Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our organisation, including our supply chains.
We have zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking and are fully aware of our responsibilities towards our service users, employees and local communities. We expect all companies that we do business with to share the same ethical values. Our policies support us in conducting business in an ethical manner. We have a Freedom to Speak Up Guardian who supports staff to raise concerns.
The aim of this statement is to demonstrate that we follow best practice and take all reasonable steps to prevent slavery and human trafficking. We expect our staff and suppliers to comply with the legislation and report any concerns where they may have them.
This year to help and support Integrated Care Boards and providers, NHS England has drafted a Modern Slavery Statement as a ‘group statement’ for NHS organisations to refer to, to reduce administrative burden, prevent duplication and increase consistency. The statement covers the actions taken by NHS England to support the wider NHS to address the risk of modern slavery in the health service and point to actions best delivered nationally or locally. The statement for 2024/25 is available on the NHS England website: NHS England » NHS England modern slavery and human trafficking statement.
