Chapter six: next steps and getting involved
Our aims and specific goals will guide annual service planning, ensuring clear objectives and measurable outcomes so we can realise the benefits we have set out to achieve
While national NHS priorities continue to evolve, we will stay agile so we can adapt our strategy to changing national and local priorities.
We will support colleagues in delivering our strategy and collaborate with patients and service users, their families and carers, our partners and communities to transform services.
This will be a ‘live’ strategy - regularly reviewed, updated, and reported to our Trust Board and Council of Governors and our progress will be shared with our communities.
We will learn from each other, celebrate achievements but remain focused on our vision of creating, outstanding care, thriving people and stronger communities.
For our Trust Strategy to be successful it needs to be meaningful and included in all our colleagues work plans and objectives.
Our golden thread
Annual plan - We will set an Annual Plan based upon the National Framework Operating Guidance and our locally agreed improvement priorities, so we can clearly demonstrate how we will deliver our Trust strategy and monitor our progress.
Chief Executive and Executive Director objectives - starting with the Chair setting the Chief Executive’s objectives, every single person in the Trust will know the part that they will play in the successful delivery through the Annual objective setting cascade.
Delivery plans - each division and corporate area will have a delivery plan with defined objectives. Monthly performance monitoring will identify any discrepancies and the actions required to address them.
Team objectives - each team will have clear objectives and regular supervision/line management that will enable them to focus on delivering for our service users, patients and communities.
Individual objectives - annual appraisals will make sure that we have the training and support for the next year’s objective.
We will continue to work closely with our patients and service users, staff, partners and communities to ensure our strategy and goals remain relevant and are meeting the needs of the populations we serve.
Getting involved
We know that the best way to improve our services is to listen to the people who use them. You can get involved with our work in a number of different ways.
