Alton Community Hospital is a small hospital in central Hampshire providing a range of community health services including two inpatient wards. A number of community services and teams are also based here including podiatry, tissue viability services and catheter clinics.
Alton Hospital consists of 2 wards (Anstey Ward and Inwood Ward) both of which are 20 bedded units specialising in frailty, rehabilitation of adult patients and palliative / End of Life Care. Our aim is to provide individualised care tailored to the patients’ needs whilst promoting independence.
Visiting Times are: 11am to 8pm - We recognise the important role that visitors can play in the patient’s wellbeing and we want to be as flexible as possible to ensure you can spend quality time together. We request that only two visitors attend at any time unless pre-agreed in advance. Please let the ward know in advance if you are bringing anyone under 16.
Meal Times are: Lunch 12.30pm to 1.30pm, Supper 5pm to 6pm
The ward operates a protected mealtime service, a member of staff will be on hand to ensure that the atmosphere is calming and provides support where needed. Please avoid entering the ward or visiting during these times.
We promote Johns Campaign which includes welcoming family and carers during mealtimes and outside of normal visiting depending on the needs of the individual patient. If you feel that a patient would benefit from this please discuss with the ward team.
You can contact the wards directly by calling:
