Our Children's Diabetes Team offer nursing care, support and advice to children and young people who have been diagnosed with Diabetes in the Southampton area.
About the service
The team offer clinics at:
- Southampton General Hospital on Thursday afternoons
- Lymington Hospital on the first Tuesday mornings in January, April, July and October.
Patients are seen regularly at the clinic and also have a full assessment and review once a year, where a full physical examination takes place and blood tests are taken to check for further complications of Diabetes.
Accessing the service
Referrals are made directly to the team through the hospital or other professionals once a child has been diagnosed as diabetic.
