Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides a wide range of physical health care across Hampshire. We deliver inpatient services in many of our community hospitals to help with rehabilitation and end of life care. Our specialist teams also cover conditions such as diabetes, continence, frailty, falls, physiotherapy, podiatry and many more.
Many services are also provided by our integrated care teams in the community. These teams are focused on making sure people can stay in their homes for as long as possible and avoid an admission to hospital. Our school nurses and health visitors provide a comprehensive service to all the children and young people across Hampshire and support them with immunisations, birth checks and mental and physical wellbeing.
Our staff are our biggest asset, and each of them offer unique skills, perspective and experience to care for our patients.

School Nursing
Our School Nursing service works in partnership with children, young people and their families to ensure that children's health needs are supported within their school and their community.
School Nurses are qualified nurses who have a specialist qualification in children and young people's public health. They work closely with other health professionals and with schools to make sure that children's physical and emotional health needs are met.
The team offers support via health reviews and immunisations in line with the Healthy Child Programme 5-19 including a School entry health review when children first start school, immunisations at various points, and the National Child Measurement Programme in Year R and Year 6.
School Nurses are skilled at spotting health problems or concerns early so that they can provide early support. Our School Nursing teams cover Hampshire, including Basingstoke and Southampton.
Health Visiting
Health visitors work with parents and children from mid-pregnancy until school entry, to give every child the “best start” in life. Health visitors are all nurses or midwives who have completed additional training in public health, which includes child development.
Our health visitors work in teams with community nursery Nnurses and also work closely with a number of other services, including GPs, midwives, paediatricians, children's centres and Hampshire Children's Services. What happens during pregnancy and in the first years of a child’s life has a big impact on their future development, opportunities and outcomes right through to adulthood. Being a health visitor means you can help to create the best start possible.
