Working with children and families in Hampshire

child_health_052.jpgHampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Children and Family Services work in a preventative way to empower children and families to take control of their health and wellbeing. Children and family services work with the local population to improve the daily lives of young people in Hampshire across a whole range of settings and specialities. Our teams focus on everything from vaccinations to healthy living advice and cover areas such as Health Visiting, School Nursing, Child Health Information Service (CHIS) and Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) nursing.

You can find out more about the different areas we cover here. Improving health outcomes starts early in life and that’s why working in children and family services in Hampshire is both a vital public health role and a hugely rewarding career.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a school nurse for Hannah is being able to see a young person grow into a confident and healthy person. Hannah works in an environment filled with compassion, care as well as creative outside the box thinking which inspires and drives her to deliver her best work.

After seeing how much support her sister got throughout her pregnancy, Llewana knew from a young age that she wanted to work within the NHS and be able to make that difference for people. Now that she is a mum herself, Llewana really values the flexibility and work-life balance she is able to have, being a health visitor.

Having joined the NHS five years ago after a career in finance, Sylvia tells us about how privileged she feels to be able to work within a supportive team that offer a service with a unique level of support to families and young people’s wellbeing.
