Changing our email addresses – from June 2025

3 April 2025

Since we became Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare last October, we have been making changes to better support our patients, carers and our partners. As part of this process, we are updating our email addresses to make communication simpler and more secure for everyone.

Starting in June 2025, all our email addresses will change to @nhs.net. This will help us stay connected with you more easily and safely.

What This Means for You
  • You can still reach our teams using current email addresses for a transitional period - your messages won’t get lost.
  • Teams currently using @solent.nhs.uk or @southernhealth.nhs.uk will switch to @nhs.net addresses.
  • If a team already has an @nhs.net address, nothing will change.

Do you need to do anything?
Not at the moment! We’ll let you know when it’s time to update your contact information. Our staff will share their new email addresses with you, so you can make the change when it’s needed. For now, you don’t need to do anything - just keep an eye out for updates as we move forward.

Will old email addresses still work?
Yes! For at least six months after the change, any emails sent to our old addresses will automatically be forwarded to the new ones. This gives patients, carers, and healthcare partners (like GPs) plenty of time to update their records without worrying about losing contact.

Why the change?
This update helps us provide a safer and more reliable service for everyone. By combining our email system, we’re improving security, making communication smoother, and ensuring we continue to meet the highest NHS data protection standards. It also helps us use our resources more efficiently, so we can focus on what matters most - caring for our patients.
