Brighterway charity sets out its stall for festive cheer

17 December 2024

Brighterway, the charity of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, has had its team out in force, raising awareness and spreading festive cheer across local communities.

The dedicated and passionate team members have so far visited Hythe Hospital, Winchester Christmas Market and Petersfield Hospital and hosted charming Christmas market stalls for people to not only support the important work of the charity but also purchase items from local producers including New Forest honey and beeswax candles; homemade chocolate brownies; festive garden plants; natural wellbeing products; Isle of Wight roasted coffee; and Christmas cards designed by Hampshire-based artist, Kate Smith.

This week, Brighterway will have stalls at:

  • Wednesday 18 December: Lymington Hospital, 10am-4pm
  • Thursday 19 December: Tatchbury Mount, 10am-4pm

Day to day, Brighterway supports recovery and enables people to lead a brighter life through the use of fundraising and grant making for projects, helping their overall quality of life, wellbeing and independence. Brighterway is a vital helping hand to the community, providing that extra bit of support for projects that the NHS aren’t able to fund.

Phil Pride, Fundraising and Marketing Manager for Brighterway, says: “We have had a brilliant time so far meeting so many from across our local communities. It’s been a really heartwarming experience and we are incredibly grateful for everyone’s support. There’s still time to come along to our stalls at Lymington Hospital and Tatchbury Mount this week, and help make a difference to people’s quality of life.”

Brighterway will soon have a new website, but visitors to the current website can still sign up to volunteer or join a 2025 fundraising appeal such as the Spinnaker Appeal – abseiling down Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower in June.  Follow Brighterway’s social media accounts to find out when the new website launches.
