Co-Production

Co-production is about working together as equals to make things better for everyone.

At Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, we believe that the people who use our services, their families, carers, communities, staff and partners all have valuable knowledge and experience to share. By working together from the start, we can design, deliver and improve services that better meet people’s needs.

Our SHARE Co-production Principles set out how we work together.

  • Start early and stay involved
  • Honest and respectful relationships
  • All voices valued
  • Resources and support in place
  • Everyone included

The SHARE Principles were developed together with people with lived experience, carers, staff, voluntary and community organisations, Healthwatch and other partners. They reflect what matters most in creating meaningful involvement and ensuring that people’s experiences help shape decisions.

These principles guide how we plan, design, deliver and improve services across our Trust in a way that is inclusive, fair and informed by a wide range of perspectives.

As part of our commitment to co-production, we will continue to work with partners and people with lived experience to develop practical toolkits, resources and guidance that support meaningful involvement in all that we do.
