Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is inviting unpaid carers across the community to take part in a series of free online drop-in sessions as part of Carers Week, taking place from 8-14 June 2026.
The sessions will offer an opportunity for carers to speak openly in a safe and supportive environment, share experiences with others, take time out from their caring responsibilities, and access information about available support. Everyone is welcome, whether they are new to caring or have been supporting someone for many years. The initiative supports this year’s message: “You care. We care.” highlighting the importance of building carer-friendly communities.
Kate Oliver, Experience of Care and Community Engagement Facilitator for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare commented;
“Carers play a vital role in supporting family members and loved ones, often going above and beyond while balancing significant responsibilities. Through events like these, we are committed to ensuring carers feel recognised, valued and supported, while offering a space for connection and understanding. They are a chance to pause, share experiences and be reminded that they are not alone.”
Three virtual drop-in sessions will be held during Carers Week:
• Tuesday 9 June, 1pm – 2pm
• Thursday 11 June, 9.30am – 10.30am
• Friday 12 June, 11.30am – 12.30pm
Each session will be hosted online, allowing carers to join from the comfort of their own home. Participants are welcome to join at any point during the session. To receive a link to join one of the sessions, carers can email: Kate.
