A generous donation made in memory of Isle of Wight patient Victoria Gregg will help enhance vascular assessment services for patients across the island.
Victoria Gregg was cared for by the Isle of Wight podiatry team at the Arthur Webster Clinic, where she received specialist assessment and onward support from mainland colleagues, which enabled her to regain her independence and mobility. She sadly passed away earlier this year.
In recognition of the care she received, her husband Michael and their two sons donated the collection from her funeral to the Isle of Wight podiatry service. The donation has enabled the purchase of an ankle brachial pressure kit for use at the Arthur Webster Clinic, supporting clinicians to carry out detailed vascular assessments locally.
Stephanie Stanley, Consultant Podiatrist and Clinical and Professional Lead for Podiatry for the Isle of Wight Division at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust said:
“This incredibly generous gift means we can keep this specialist equipment at the Arthur Webster Clinic, allowing us to carry out detailed vascular assessments locally and identify vascular problems earlier. It will make a real difference to the care we provide to islanders. We are very grateful to Victoria’s family for their generous gift in her memory.”
Victoria’s husband Michael thanked the team for their care, saying the podiatry department was the one place Victoria didn’t mind going and that she “felt safe, looked after and cared for” by the team.
The equipment will now support the ongoing assessment and treatment of patients with suspected vascular conditions across the island.
